Smallest Eco-Smart Model Now In Service With Energy Shipping Company MOL (Mitsui OSK Lines)

The smallest Eco-Smart food waste dryer, the ES30 (maximum 30kg per day) is now in service with MOL LNG, the global energy shipping line on the vessel the Al Aamriya. The management of waste on board ships is now covered by international law, with the discharge of certain waste types at sea banned. Shipping companies must implement waste management plans for all vessels, avoid dumping waste at sea and use technology to minimise waste.

The Eco-Smart food waste dryer has a serious role to play in this new maritime environment, whether in container ships, tankers or cruise ships. The smallest model, which was introduced in 2019 stands no higher than a kitchen unit. It takes a 220V power supply.

It has a theoretical daily capacity to dry 30kg per day in two 15kg batches. The typical maximum load would be 20kg per day. Ships tend to work on 60Hz power supply frequency (common to the US) rather than the European 50Hz. This motor option is available on Eco-Smart models.

The ES30 is ideal for smaller restaurants and kitchens where space is at a premium.
